Using social media
If you’re talking about us on your own social media account:
For starters, please do talk about us, we want lots of people to know about us and our work! Use a website link to show your friends more information.
Please don’t use our logo on your social media account unless you’ve been given specific guidance. This is because we don’t want to confuse people looking for our official accounts.
Use photos where you can, they are proven to engage with a greater number of people. Please do remember to get permission from your Link Friend if using their photo though and be mindful to protect them. Don’t reveal their full name, address or any identifying information that may make them vulnerable.
Think about who is going to see your post – if you are in doubt about the content of your post or worry that it might offend others or put your Link Friend at risk, don’t post it. Almost everything we post online can be copied and shared, even with private accounts.
Remember that if you would like advice about a service on behalf of your Link Friend it’s always best to contact the office first. Using online forums to seek advice or recommendations can identify your Link Friend as being lonely or isolated and could put them at greater risk.
Be kind, supportive and enthusiastic - in line with our ethos. Be courteous and respectful of other people and their views, religions and cultures.
Think before you share. Never disclose non-public and confidential information about The Link Visiting Scheme, its staff, volunteers, and most importantly our Link Friends.
