Celebrating friendship at our community pop-up café
Every Thursday, we extend a warm welcome at our community pop-up café at All Saints Church in Wokingham. However, on August 15th, we went above and beyond to celebrate and honour the friendships that enrich our lives.
Nearly 100 people joined us, including volunteers, Link Friends, family members, carers and those just wanting to drop in. Together, we enjoyed a delicious free lunch, received small gifts to cheer us up, played fun games, participated in a quiz, and captured silly photos. Most importantly, we shared stories about how friendship has impacted our lives.
We were thrilled to welcome everyone, hear so many happy stories, witness new friendships forming, and enjoy food and drinks together. The laughter and joy were palpable as we printed and handed out photos, creating lasting memories.
Our annual Friendship Day celebration is now a permenant event in The Link Visiting Scheme’s calendar. Will you join us next year?
