We’ve been helping older people who are struggling with loneliness for over 20 years now and in that time we’ve seen our service grow and expand.

Recently however the number of people needing our service has tripled and it can take a while for us to find a volunteer to pop around to visit.

In order to speed up our support, we have started ‘Link Express’ a new telephone befriending service for those who have been assessed as needing our service but before they meet a volunteer.

We are grateful to Wokingham United Charities, Wokingham Borough Council and the Postcode Lottery for helping us begin this already successful initiative.

One lady said talking to our volunteers had made her day!
