Befriending someone living with dementia training

This training is a perfect opportunity for you to gain a better understanding of dementia, regardless of your level of previous experience. After attending you will have a basic knowledge of what dementia is and will have gained more confidence to visit a link friend living with dementia.

We cover what dementia is, how it can affect individuals and how we can help people live well with dementia. We explore how a person’s daily life can be affected by dementia and give ideas for communication tips when visiting a link friend with dementia.

This training consists of watching 1 prerecorded webinar (26 minutes) and attending 1 live Zoom session (1hour). After watching the webinar (part 1 of this training, more info here) you can attend a Zoom discussion group with other Link volunteers. There will be opportunities to ask questions, talk about what we have learnt and share your personal experiences if you would like to.
