Supporting Those Affected by Covid-19

Measures to protect and support our community

The Link Visiting Scheme is part of a group of charities that have come together to address the serious issue of loneliness in older people called The Friendship Alliance.  Involve, Age Uk Berkshire, Wokingham Volunteer Center and The Link Visiting Scheme are all working to coordinate a response to protecting and supporting older people who will be affected by Covid-19.

This week we will continue discussions with other brilliant charities, church groups, organisations and Wokingham Borough Council to ensure we stay connected, informed and can act in a way that protects, supports and ensures the safety of older people where quick and effective help can be given as it's needed. 

Please do continue to get in touch with us or organisations that you are already part of, so that we can establish a pool of volunteers we can call on to help older people if they have no other networks.

In the meantime,  talk to your neighbours! If we are all in touch with our immediate community, it will make an incredible difference in keeping everyone safe and feeling supported.
