Carole & Margaret
Link Visiting Scheme volunteer Carole shares her experience of building connections with her Link friend and how volunteering has been so meaningful to her.

I have been visiting Margaret once a week for nearly two years now. When I first started visiting her, we would go for a walk around a nearby lake. This would take over an hour and, at nearly 90 years of age, I was so impressed at how sprightly Margaret was. Sadly, Margaret became quite poorly last year, and she became frailer, so our walks became shorter. But our chats didn't!
I look forward to my weekly visit having a chat and a giggle over a cuppa, and I know Margaret does, too.
It may be a small thing, but that hour or so really makes all the difference.

Volunteer and change someone’s life through friendship
