Norman & Maggi

93-year-old Norman survived COVID-19, and we spoke to his volunteer Maggi about their wonderful friendship.

Following a fall and several hours on the floor in the night, 95-year-old Norman was admitted to hospital with COVID-19. After an extended stay in the hospital, thankfully Norman is back at home and recovering well. His wonderful volunteer, Maggi, paid him a physically distanced visit and they chatted through the patio doors.

She told us: “Thank you so much for matching us up 5 years ago... Norman says I’m now part of the family and for my part, I love him dearly. During lockdown, I thought I might never see him again.”

What an amazing story of friendship!
